Maersk Line this week adopted CargoSphere’s ecosystem for ocean rates, providing it with a digital and fully-automated method of sending contract rates and amendments to shippers.

The world’s largest shipping line will use software and services from CargoSphere to distribute rates, tariffs and surcharges to shipper, freight forwarder and non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) customers.

Maersk Line’s joining of Hapag-Lloyd in tapping CargoSphere to provide direct rate feeds to its freight forwarder and non-vessel-operating common carrier (NVOCC) customers illustrates building pressure on both container lines to provide dynamic pricing and on intermediaries to quote to shippers more quickly.

Maersk Line, the world’s largest container shipping company, is now using CargoSphere’s platform for digital, fully automated distribution of its contract rates and amendments.
